Rudrabhishek is a very important puja for Kashmiri Pandits. In Kashmiri we used to prepare “Parthishar” daily which was made from holy and clean soil. Some Kashmiri Pandits have kept performing this puja on some important occasions even after migrating from Kashmir. Rudra Abhishek means to pour water, milk, honey, ghee, panchamrit etc. on the idols of Shivalinga, it is believed that this is the best way to please Bagwan Shankar and Mata Parvati.
Importance Of Rudrabhishek
Lord Shiva is also called Rudra, as per our Kashmiri scriptures, there is special Strotram available which is used to perform Abhishek of Shivlinga and that Abhishek is called “RUDRABHISHEK”.
Generally sacred items are used in performing this Shiv Puja i.e. Cow milk, curd made by cow milk, ghee made by cow milk, honey, sugar-cane juice, rice, black til, water etc.
It is taken as most auspicious and sacred way to please Lord Shiva and it is a belief that it is the solution of every problem as per the devotees of Lord Shiva. Scriptures also clears that Rudra Abhishek is a very powerful way to getrid of problems.

If any one is suffering from pitra dosha then the Chaturdashi and Amavasya is good to perform this puja.
