Family is the top most priority for a Kashmiri, their wellbeing and happiness is what holds the utmost importance and everything else follows on its own. Time is valued and spent doing things that matter for the upliftment of people, communities and whole of Kashmir. Gender inequality is something that has never been at the core of any Kashmiri household. Baby girls are welcomed with the same fervour with which a baby boy is nurtured. Imparting of education is one of the highest social goals in a Kashmiri society and children regardless of their gender are instilled with an ever increasing hunger for knowledge and wisdom. Daughters are loved much more than sons and considered to be the lucky charm of any household.
Times might have been brutal for Kashmir, situations might have made certain nooks and corners of its people’s heart a little bitter, but as their basic nature embraces love, humility and compassion, therefore, every Kashmiri has a beautiful tale to weave and connect with the vast anonymity they encounter. Kashmir and Kashmiri are not only physically remarkable but also carry a pure and passionate soul that’s hard to find. And if you find one, don’t hesitate to share the tie of love and friendliness as what you will receive will be a relation of a lifetime drenched with genuine care and kindheartedness.
